About Us

Tdoctorshe Pan-Canadian Health Human Resources Network (CHHRN) was established through funds from Health Canada and is comprised of national experts researchers and policy makers involved/interested in health human resource research, policy and/or planning

The goal of this project is to establish a pan-Canadian HHR knowledge exchange portal and virtual network. This network and portal would be a national resource providing access to the latest HHR information and evidence on innovative approaches to HHR development, training, financing, regulation, recruitment, and retention, as well as up-to-date information on ongoing research and model-development at pan-Canadian, provincial/territorial and local/regional service delivery levels.

In the first year of operation, the network and portal would focus on the core issues of relevance identified by the ACHDHR – HHR efficiency and productivity; entry to practice credentials and competency; interprofessional models of education and care; internationally educated health professionals and ethical recruitment policies/practices.

Our Goals:

  • To provide access to the latest HHR information and evidence on innovative approaches to HHR development, training, financing, regulation, recruitment and retention.
  • To gather, share, exchange and build capacity in high-quality health human resource research and provide access to on ongoing research and model-development at pan-Canadian, provincial/territorial and local/regional service delivery levels.
  • To connect experts, researchers and policy/decision makers in order to better coordinate research and support the development and implementation of high quality, evidence-based, HHR policies and best practices.
