Learning Health Workforce Systems

Lead: Caroline Chamberland-Rowe

Learning health workforce systems embody the value of integrating research and practice. They meaningfully engage with extant evidence and local care teams to identify, adapt, implement, and refine promising practices in health workforce policy, planning, and management. This thematic group aims to better understand, and support, the collaborative and cyclical processes through which leaders leverage all forms of available data - including the knowledge, experience, and expertise of health workers themselves - to 1) recognize and understand critical health workforce challenges, 2) identify evidence-informed, locally-relevant and person-centered solutions, and 3) rigorously evaluate their implementation to generate lessons learned that can be fed back into the evidence base to support continuous learning and improvement within and across health workforce systems.
