Health Workforce Innovations in Response to the COVID Pandemic
Caregiver Tele-Connect (CTC)
Caregivers are in a unique position during the pandemic and often provide care to those who are significantly at risk. This can exacerbate isolation and loneliness while people are socially isolating or in quarantine.
Caregiver Tele-Connect (also known as CTC) is a unique initiative aimed at supporting caregivers who are looking after someone with a life-limiting illness.
CTC is a 4-week facilitated telephone support group for people giving care to a loved one who has a life-limiting illness. This may include cancer, heart disease, COPD, kidney or liver disease, dementia or other neurodegenerative diseases.
This initiative can help you discuss your concerns about caregiving and share with others on a similar journey, prepare for transitions in the road ahead, and discover useful resources
Caregivers Nova Scotia provides free programs, services, information, and advocacy for family and friend caregivers. We are dedicated to providing recognition and practical assistance to friends and family giving care.
We participate in government task forces and working groups to influence public policy for the benefit of caregivers. An important part of supporting caregivers is to listen to what they are saying about their experiences and bring it into the public eye. Caregivers Nova Scotia strives to take the collective voice of caregivers and amplify it
