The Path to Integration - Workshops for Employers of Internationally Educated Nurses | October 25&26 and November 26&30, 2012
The health care sector expects to see continued growth in the health needs of Canadians. With an aging workforce and the threat of nursing shortages, integrating new nurses into the health care system efficiently and effectively has become a priority issue for health service providers and the Ontario government. One strategy of interest is hiring internationally educated nurses (IENs).
The goal of this workshop is to provide health care employers with strategies they can use to help them recruit, retain, and successfully integrate IENs into their workforce to meet future demands.
Join this workshop to hear directly from hospitals that have implemented mentorship, recruitment, and orientation practices aimed at IENs. Participants will be able to hear about strategies employers use to effectively recruit and integrate IENs, their key promising practices and understand the role human resources, nursing, and other leaders can play.
