Building momentum created by our first and second CHWC held in 2014 and 2016, the third Canadian Health Workforce Conference (CHWC) will continue the critically important discussions of how best to optimize our system's most important resource- our health workforce.
The theme for our third CHWC conference is, “Ensuring a Fit-For-Purpose Health Workforce.” This theme aligns with the Global Strategy on Human Resources for Health: Workforce 2030, which calls for ministries of health and partners to identify “medium and long-term health workforce priorities for increasing reliance of health systems.” We will continue to work in close partnership with the WHO and the Global Health Workforce Network towards advancing the recommendations from the Global Strategy as well as the High-Level Commission for Health Employment and Economic Growth. We aim to deliver a program that meets the information needs of a wide range of audiences and to bring together key players towards the advancement of ensuring a fit-for-purpose health workforce that meets the needs of all Canadians.
The CHWC hosts participants and presenters from across the country and internationally from such countries as Finland, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Iran!
